This is easiest with a partner, but you can do it alone with a soft tape measure and a mirror. Measure around the widest part of your head, just above your eyebrows. The tape should be parallel to the floor. Don’t pull it tight; you want your hat to be comfortable. A finger should comfortably fit under the tape. Don’t have a soft tape measure? No problem. Use a piece of non-stretchy ribbon or string. Mark where the two ends overlap and measure against a ruler.

Now, repeat the process two more times to be sure that your results are the same!
